The teacher of the year gala is a heartfelt recognition event for Estonian education workers, the focus of which is slightly different every year, but the goal of solemnly recognizing pedagogues and valuing the teaching profession has accompanied the event over the years. This time, the main focus was on the popularization of the teaching profession, the European Year of Skills and the transition from primary education to learning in the Estonian language. With the creative solution "Let's get along, we wanted to show that we are all different, but we all get along wonderfully in the space of our language and culture. So we searched for this harmony throughout the entire program. We opened the gala with popular children's songs. The soloists were today's stars - Ollie, Chalice and Maris Pihlap, whose heartfelt musical retrospective of childhood had a warm and touching effect. "Aabitsakukuk", "My teacher" and "Küll on tähät" also resonated perfectly with adults. There was nothing random about the musical program - we tried to find synergy with today's greatest worries and joys. Maris Pihlap's "Peace" represented everyone's greatest heart desire, and Chalice's "My People" united us as a whole. In the video clips, we visited various inspiring teachers and showed how the focus of the gala evening is really contributed to on a daily basis. Our hosts of the evening, the always warm and cordial Jalmar Vabarna and high school student Arabella Antons, together had a very fresh and immediate effect and created a bridge between two generations.
